Gear Care Guide
Ultralight gear is designed with robust materials, but proper maintenance is critical to maximizing the lifespan of composite fabrics and technical components.
Dyneema® Packs and Shelters
- Washing: Never machine wash or machine dry. Hand wash in a tub with lukewarm water and a mild, non-detergent soap (like Nikwax Tech Wash). Use a soft sponge. Air dry completely.
- Storage: Ensure gear is completely dry before storing to prevent mildew. Store tents loose; avoid tight folds in the exact same spot repeatedly.
- Punctures: DCF (Dyneema) is easily patchable. Use DCF repair tape on the sticky side of the fabric for instant, permanent field repairs.
Down Sleep Systems (Quilts)
- Loft Maintenance: Never store your quilt compressed inside its stuffing sack. Always store it loosely in the provided cotton storage bag to protect the loft and goose down feathers.
- Washing: Hand wash only using down-specific soap. Rinse thoroughly, and dry on low heat in a commercial dryer with clean tennis balls to break up down clumps. This can take several cycles.
Shipping & Returns
Domestic & International Shipping
We ship all custom orders via insured postal mail with full tracking information. Domestic US shipping typically takes 3-5 business days. International transit varies depending on the destination country.
Handcrafted Return Policy
Because each gear piece is custom tailored or sewn to order, returns are subject to the following rules:
- Standard Products: Unused, clean items can be returned within 30 days for a full refund (minus shipping fees).
- Custom Orders: We charge a 15% restocking fee on returns for custom sizes or custom fabrics. We will work with you to adjust fit or repair issues first.
- Trail Wear: Standard wear-and-tear is not covered, but if a seam fails due to craftsmanship defects at any point, send it back and we will patch or sew it free of charge.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. If you have unique torso proportions, specific hip belt size requests, or shoulder strap girth requirements, you can outline them in our contact form or place a note during checkout. We regularly tailor packs to individual measurements.
Dyneema Composite Fabric is inherently waterproof and does not absorb water like silnylon or polyester. Because we tape all seams in our tents and packs, the gear is extremely water-resistant. However, frameless packs should still be paired with a lightweight pack liner during heavy, prolonged downpours.
It means our brand is small-scale, local, and focused on quality over volume. Rather than outsourcing manufacturing to factories overseas, we design, test, sew, and inspect all of our gear directly in our domestic mountain workshop.
